DG David Daugherty Conducts Official Visit to Oberlin Club
July 11, 2008 - President-Elect Jeanne McKibben welcomed
Rotary District 6600 Governor David & Jennifer Daugherty for
their official visit to the Oberlin club. David presented an official
welcome from Rotary International President Lee. David also
thanked the club for being so active in the district.

David has attended meetings at the Oberlin club several times
and was certainly at ease during his visit. He engaged with
club members on a number of Rotary facts and then shared key
goals for the 2008-09 Rotary year including:

1. Eradicate Polio
2. Advance the recognition and public image of Rotary
3. Increase Rotary's capacity to provide service
4. Membership

Daugherty, a Rotarian since 1975, is serving as the District

Presidential Celebration!
June 27, 2008 - Oberlin Rotarians gathered at the Oberlin Inn
to toast farewell to President Mike Loflin and welcome New
President Jeanne McKibben.

Rotary Funds Community Projects
June 15, 2008 - At the May & June Rotary Board of Directors
meetings, funding was allocated for SafetyTown, Baseball
Federation, and Boy Scout Camping. The Oberlin Summer
Concert series is also funded in part by the Oberlin Rotary Club.

National Association of College Stores (NACS) Supports
Rotary Literacy Program
June 7, 2008 - NACS donated over 75 children's books to
Rotary's ongoing literacy program with the Oberlin Schools.

Joseph A. Klier Receives Frank C. Locke Scholarship
June 1, 2008 - The Oberlin Rotary club has announced that
Joseph Klier is the 2008 receipient of the Locke Scholarship.

Oberlin Rotary Club to Turn 70!
February 23, 2008 - On April 23, 1938, the first steps of
organization as the Rotary Club of Oberlin were taken - the
club later received it's charter on May 25, 1938. The club
celebration of this major milestone occured at the annual Paul
Harris Tribute held on February 23, 2008 at the Oberlin Inn.

Rotary Presents $5000 Check to the Allen Community
Hospital Foundation
December 22, 2007 - The Oberlin Rotary club presented a
$5,000 check to the Allen Community Hospital Foundation. Club
President Mike Loflin indicated, "this is the first installment of a
$20,000 pledge. We are proud to support our local hospital and
the importance it has in our community!"...learn more.

Book to Support Literacy Given to Eastwood Schools
December 22, 2007 - Club President Mike Loflin presented the
Eastwood Schools with dozens of books at it's holiday party on
December 22, 2007. The club's literacy program has been
ongoing for four years. Each book is dedicated to an individual
who spoke at a Rotary meeting during the past year.

Sandra Hodge Joins Rotary
August 1, 2008 - The Oberlin Rotary Club welcomed long-time
Oberlin resident Sandra Hodge as a member. Sandra is the
Special Assistant to the President for Community and
Governmental Relations at Oberlin College. Welcome Sandra!
